Tommy came round and insisted on trying the paddle out. For Tommy this is the hardest he has taken yet and it shows with the first dozen of hits.

Paddle would have been MUCH worse if there had been holes in it - changes the aerodynamics. My old man used a paddle with holes - also I always got thrashed naked.
